Bishop of Worcester with pupils on the new play area

The Right Reverend Hugh Nelson, Bishop of Worcester, opened our new play areas for Early Years and Years 1–6.

We were delighted to welcome the Right Reverend Hugh Nelson, Bishop of Worcester, to officially open our new play areas for Early Years and Years 1–6. The official opening was also attended by our trust Director of Education, Kerry Postans, Father Tim and James Homer from the local parishes, Nick Wright from The Elmley Trust and members of the Cutnall Green PTA.

The new play areas both include wooden climbing equipment and sheltered dens for outdoor reading. Assistant Headteacher, Mr Pates, said: “Outdoor play is an important part of school life, and this project has transformed our grounds. Thank you to The Elmley Trust and the Cutnall Green CofE School PTA for helping to fund the project. The equipment has improved children’s physical development and increased their confidence when taking on new challenges.”

During the official opening, Year 6 pupils read out prayers they had written, before the Bishop spoke to pupils about what God means to them and encouraged them to find joy in reading, learning and playing in their new playground.

Pupils showed Bishop Nelson how to use the play equipment, with Father Tim, Mr Homer and Mr Wright even having a go on the monkey bars.
