Cutnall Green C of E Primary School

  • Governance

At Cutnall Green, we are part of The Rivers CofE Academy Trust, which has a clear and supportive governance structure to make sure every school is well‑led, safe and focused on giving children the best possible education.

The governance structure has three main layers:

    1. Members
    2. Trustees
    3. School‑level Advocates (Local Voice)

Each group has a different job, but they all work together to help our children thrive.

School‑level Advocates – the local voice

Advocates volunteer their time to represent the school community and make sure the views of pupils, parents and staff are heard at the trust level.

There are four types of advocates:

    • Headteacher Advocate – makes sure the headteacher is listened to, supported and challenged
    • Pupil Experience Advocate – checks that pupils feel safe, listened to and able to learn well
    • Community Advocate – ensures the school works positively with parents and the local community
    • Christian Distinctiveness Advocate (church schools only) – ensures the Christian vision and values are at the heart of school life

Schools also elect two parent Advocates, ensuring parents' voices directly influence decision‑making at the Trust level.

Advocates do not make strategic decisions about the whole Trust, but they play a crucial role in representing the local voice, ensuring each school stays connected to its community.
