What can children learn and experience outdoors?
Children are naturally inquisitive and learn best when engaged in their environment. Outdoor learning is therefore an important part of the EYFS day at Cutnall Green because it stimulates children's curiosity, creativity and imagination. In Cutnall Green, children are given regular learning opportunities to achieve, develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on experiences in our wildlife area. Children have opportunities to take risks, solve problems and work in collaboration. It also helps children to establish a healthy and active lifestyle and offers them the opportunities to use their bodies physically by engaging in various activities.

We are regularly enriched by visitors who come in to teach and inspire the children. Last year we had visitors from midwives, guide dogs, vets, firefighters, vicars and many more.

Parental partnership and engagement is ver important within the EYFS at Cutnall Green. Children learn best when they can see that school and home are working together. Parental engagement is encouraged within the EYFS through providing a range of opportunity for the children and their parents to engage in activities linked to our overarching themes. We invite parents in each half-term to join their children in a range of activities and to celebrate the children's achievements. At Cutnall Green, the staff are present to talk to at the beginning and end of the school day. We provide half-termly newsletters to inform parents about the learning journeys, knowledge, understanding and skills that the children will be covering each half-term.
