At Cutnall Green CofE Primary School, we want every child to enjoy learning and feel ready for the future. Our curriculum helps children think for themselves, ask questions and gain the skills they need to grow into confident, caring individuals.
What your child will learn
Each year, your child will study a range of subjects. Learning is carefully sequenced so that knowledge builds over time and key skills are revisited and strengthened. We link lessons to everyday experiences, so children understand why their learning matters.
Each year group has clear units of work for every subject. Our subject pages contain:
- a curriculum overview
- a progression framework
- knowledge organisers for each year and term
How we teach
- Learning is broken into clear steps, so children build knowledge steadily.
- Teachers revisit key learning regularly to help children remember.
- Vocabulary is explicitly taught in every subject.
- Lessons include opportunities to practise, discuss and apply knowledge.
- Learning is adapted so that all pupils can succeed.
What children achieve
By the end of their time at our school, pupils:
- Have secure knowledge across all subjects.
- Can apply their learning to solve problems.
- Speak confidently using subject vocabulary.
- Are well-prepared for the next stage of education.

Withdrawing your child from RE
Parents/carers have a right to withdraw their child from RE. You don’t have to give a reason; however, you should be aware of the RE syllabus and that it is relevant to all pupils and respects their own personal beliefs. If you would like to discuss our RE curriculum so you can make an informed decision, please get in touch with the school.
Trips to places of worship
Parents/carers have a right to withdraw their child from any trip that is part of the RE curriculum. If you have any concerns, please contact the school so we can arrange a meeting to talk through your concerns.
Early Years
In Early Years, children learn through a balance of structured teaching and purposeful play.
We focus on developing strong communication skills, early reading and maths and a love of learning.
SEND and Inclusion
We believe all children can succeed.
